For God so loved the world, that he gave his
only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16)
To me,
this is the best summary of the Bible and the Gospel. Indeed, this is a
testimony of ultimate sacrifice; a testimony of love and abnegation. This is
what I would like to spend my Good Friday meditating on.
The most important
thing is not to know whether He actually died on a Thursday or on a Friday, as
some like to argue. The most important thing is that, one day, Jesus-Christ of
Nazareth willingly offered His life in sacrifice in exchange of ours. He bore
the weight of our condemnation and died on the Cross for us.
Let’s not
allow the “eggs” sidetrack us from the main message of this weekend. Christ died,
but He is also risen, Praise God!
He has overcome death and He is Alive!
Happy Easter!
Amen!
